Local Choregraphy

In view of the growing talents in local choreography, CLDAS has decided to promote, introduce and include local choreographies in all our jams.

However, in order to maintain our main objectives as an advocate of country music, the dances should have the following contents:

    1. Music
  • MUST be in Country Style or flavor
  • Singer or group MUST be within the Country genre
  • Language preferably English. Other languages MAY BE considered but music MUST have Country Beat and Flavor

Effective 11 Nov 2006, members can submit their entry to the Selection Committee via email: "choreography-at-cldas-dot-com". Please note the following conditions:

  1. Applicant MUST be CLDAS member.
  2. Applicant MUST submit 3 copies of the steps sheet (in English) together with the Original CD. Original CD will be returned after use. At this juncture, we recommend that it is to your advantage to choreograph dances where the music is easily purchased in the local music stores or iTunes store (USA). CLDAS MUST be able to obtain the original copy otherwise you have to bring along the Original Music CD each time the dance is introduced and promoted in our jams.
  3. You MUST agree to appear in some of our jams to perform and teach the dance to our members.
  4. Finally, if necessary, you may be required to give a demo of the dance to the Selection Committee prior approval and acceptance.

Please note that the decision of the Selection Committee is FINAL. If you disagree with their decision, you may appeal by writing to the Chairperson of the Main Committee with the reasons why the decision should be reversed.
